Bill Giles

People who attend Bill Giles clinic and yoga courses often want to get an idea of who they are dealing with before they commit to engaging with him. They initially can get an outline of who I am by reading lists of “accomplishments” and “qualifications” such as my background in engineering (five years study) and science (seven years obtaining three degrees); more than 30 years in a clinical practice as an immunobiologist; my passion and practice of hatha and raja yoga for almost 50 years; the Samyama School of Yoga which I founded; my ongoing interest in martial arts for more than 50 years: along with decades of practicing Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, Oriental osteopathy, hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, and other complementary medicine techniques.

I woke up when I was 22 and accepted that I was heading in the wrong direction for the life I really wanted. Luckily I joined the Rosicrucian Order, and was a member for more than 20 years.

This set a path for my self-improvement.

When I was 23, during a yoga weekend with two Swamis, I discovered the outline of the yoga life, and this is what I have been following ever since—it works for me. I practice yoga as a biologist. I approach life with the practical outlook of an engineer, I examine life through the logic of science, and balance this with the intuition of the mystical philosopher I have become.

After completing several thousand case studies on the effects that defence chemicals in our vegetables, salads, fruits and grains, have on the human adaptive immune system, along with Rob de Castella, founded the Deeks Health Bakery in 2004 which was then the world’s first totally grain and gluten free bakery—the products of which have helped many people across Australasia to live a more normal life despite their diagnosed chronic immune-related diseases.

Helping people regain and maintain good health using biological and yoga principles has been a high priority in my life. I am an advocate of people being responsible for their health, and not relying totally on a medical system to “fix” them. I am passionate about teaching the tools and techniques to age gracefully; how to lift organ function; remove aches and pains, and how to unload, boost and refocus immune resources to always feel 20 years younger than other people.

Simply make a booking and come and talk to me, Bill Giles in the clinic or join one of my yoga classes.
